Installing a ceiling fan is easier than most people imagine. Provided you use the connection of the previous ceiling light, the ceiling fan can be installed within ¾ of an hour. Depending on the model, there may be deviations in the installation, which we would like to briefly explain here.
The Fanaway models have the advantage of pre-installed blades; only the downrod needs to be installed - making sure to observe the correct order of the motor and canopy covers before mounting the hemisphere to the downrod. Finally, tighten all screws by hand.
The ceiling bracket is fastened to the ceiling with two screws; 8/10 mm anchors/screws are sufficient. With special cavity anchors, the installation can also be done on a drywall ceiling, provided that the sub-construction supports the specified load capacity.
Disconnect power from the ceiling connection (turn off the fuse) and connect the three wires of the ceiling connection to the terminal block of the ceiling bracket.
Next, lift the Fanaway into the bracket and ensure that the ball joint engages with the designated pin. The Fanaway will automatically hang straight down. Now, push the receiver (and the LED driver for LED models) into the gap between the ball joint and the ceiling and connect the connecting cables to the designated cables (clip connection).
Finally, slide the canopy over the ceiling bracket, pressing the cables by hand under the cover and hooking or screwing it into place on the sides. Now power can be restored to the ceiling connection and the ceiling fan can be put into operation.
It is best to start the Fanaway at the highest setting, as the blades will extend faster. Lucci air/Bayside models with a downrod are installed similarly to the Fanaway. Only the installation of the blades needs to be done. Always hand-tighten the blades, otherwise hairline cracks could form and the blades could break off during operation.
For Lucci air or Bayside fans, we recommend installing the blades beforehand and then hanging the fan.
For CTC models, installation is similarly easy. After installing the ceiling bracket, you can hang the motor block on the hook of the ceiling plate, which frees up your hands to connect the cables. Please read the instructions carefully to ensure the correct order of installation.
Quick Guide:
- Mounting and connecting the ceiling bracket
- Mounting the downrod
- Mounting the blades
- Hanging the fan
- Clipping on the receiver
- Screwing the cover over the ceiling bracket
What to look out for:
- For devices with a wall switch (usually without light), the supplied switch replaces the previous wall switch, and power is regulated accordingly by the wall switch. These devices can be equipped with any AC remote control kit from Lucci.
- DC motors only run properly when the blades are mounted.
- When installing multiple AC fans, 16 different radio frequencies can be set on the remote control and receiver. Alternatively, multiple fans can be controlled in parallel with one frequency.
- The receivers have a memory function, meaning if you turn the device off at the wall switch and then back on, it will resume in the last used function. This allows you, for example, to turn the light on/off via the wall switch as before for devices with ceiling lights.
